saw this interesting article on the bbc website. The description of the way the ship handles raised my eyebrow a bit, it's meant to be an exact replica but i wonder if some vital bit of info or skill is lost to make it handle so poorly - or maybe this is indeed the kind of thing those early explorers had to live with?
