RECENT FORUM CRASH

It seems we had a forum crash a couple of days ago. The forum seems to be restored now,
but our posts from basically the past whole week have disappeared!

Question to Keith: Is there any chance at all that copies of those posts are still somewhere to be found?
There were a couple in which I put a LOT of effort and I <i>really</i> want those back!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
Sorry Pieter, no can do.

Hostgator made an upgrade in Thursday night and it screwed a number of their hosted sites up, not just us.

I'm pretty pissed at it as dealing with their support has been like pulling teeth as they take 4-6 hours to answer. Of couse not to mention they killed our database and they only do weekly backups!

Couple that with the downtime previously changing server is now a must.

I'll probably close the forum tomorrow or Monday and do a final backup before I transfer it over.

I should add the server we will be on is in Singapore, they are a tad more expensive than the US hosts but they are damm reliable.

They space is not as good either but I will probaly keep a cheap & nasty US based server (ala Hostgator) for file downloads/public ftp's
 
That is beyond shitty. That really IS beyond shitty! I spent a whole day on writing half a movie script, only to lose it again.

I will probably not be able to do it again any time soon anyway.
It took me a lot of effort and time to make that and I won't have such amounts of time again for a long, long time.

I'm always logged in as admin so I cannot see it.

Hang a sec Ill make you the same as Thag & Salt as a publisher and see if that makes a difference

Update: Stal, see if you can see an edit button now?

I've got an edit button for the news page articles and the game descriptions you put up, but still nothing for my review. Would resubmitting the review now that I'm listed as a publisher do any good? I had given the star ratings and filled out the "The Good and the Bad" sections when I was writing up the review, but those don't seem to be listed with it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Yup time is screwed up, i just noticed it also. Looks like GMT +2 which is a strange time to have.
