[REL] New weapon: Claymore

Kazeite

Privateer
Storm Modder
So, it looks like there are two weapons in <i>CoaS</i> named claymore. However, when I look at them, it's quite obvious:

claymore1.jpg
This, dear sirs, is <b>not</b> a claymore.

claymore2.jpg
<b>This</b> is a claymore <img src="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

ingame_shot.JPG

So, here's the deal: I've made a model of new weapon for <i>CoaS</i> (included are: model, texture, and weapon icon). Now I wouldn't call it a complete mod, since it doesn't really add this new weapon - however, it can be easily added by even moderately determined coder <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> either as a replacement for already existing weapon, or as a completely new one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Known bugs: reverse lightning bug, as usual.

<i>That</i> is a bloody <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BFS" target="_blank">zanbato</a>. :p
Basket hilted claymores are perfectly legitimate: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claymore" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claymore</a>

Noooo! What have you done?! You've posted a link to <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage" target="_blank">TV Tropes</a>! Now we'll <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife" target="_blank">never get any job done here</a>! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Besides, we <i>Pirates Ahoy</i> modders sneer at historical accurancy! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

And, it seems to be that no-one realized that this weapon is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claymore_(manga)" target="_blank">little easter egg</a> in itself <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

excuse me? i am totally for historical accuracy. unless it counteracts doing things the fun way. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->One dubiously historical example of a BFS is the zanbato, an anti-cavalry sword big enough to kill a rider and his horse in one shot (bringing new meaning to a certain phrase that ends, "... and the horse you rode in on!").<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I can see it now in this game, get stuck in a doorway because your big sword strapped on your back won't let you through.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The zanbato only stayed in service for a short period of time as it proved far too heavy for normal use, often requiring two people to wield.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

EDIT:
One of those heavy weapons you can only swing once. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

man, two people wielding one sword sounds hilarious. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

"swing it!"

"what?"

"SWING IT TO THE LEFT!"

*hrg!*

"the other left!"

having a sword on your back is, by the way, practically impossible. we've tried it at my nephew's house with a bastard sword, but the thing's longer than your arm, so you can't pull it out of the sheathe.

By the way the claymore ya made.. that manga thing or whatever. Looks kinda silly. I mean it has a broad blade put onto some small thin handle.. WTF!?! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

And Morgan.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" /> lol.

i've got plenty of source material. the source material also says that that's not what a zanbato looks like though.
