I guess you are asking what happens when you see a ship with green sails? You just click on "Engage" then fats travel to it and then use boat to it. If the ship is under the enemy flag you hit cancel instead of engage, chenge the flag and then hit to engage again.

Far as this ol' capin' knows, sail colors are not descibed in the bloomin' manual! Or I missed it! Blasted eye-patch musta got some parrot crap on 'er agin!

But I learn dis on these here forums, see?

Orange = Quest ship you must fight

Green = Quest ship that you must talk to (no fight)

Purple = Non-generic quest ship

Gold = Golden Fleet.

Scroggie's not to clear on wedder or not dere be more.

YARR capn, ye 'arf teh make like a scurvy sea dog an make fast to the worldmap iv ya wanna catch that green scallywag! I recon ye port controller is spend'in too much time in the brothel with hoowers ta realize he hasnt gone far, why ere time i got this mission, 'e was just one days sail out iv port, or 'e had been sailin in irons for the pas month cos hes ne're far aways from the port on yar worldmap!

Oops ...That explains why I haven't completed any of those quests ...I guess those captains weren't in much of a talking mood after I boarded and plundered their vessels!
