Right path and ambiguous situations

Playing Peter Blood.
I'm playing the good man , never been flying pirate flag , always french and english flag I fly, always attacking pirates and spanish ships, never attacking dutch .
I have france -admiration,england the same, bounty from spain, dutch admiration.
My officers reputation ranges from regular sailor to hero(only between those).

England and France love me and they are allies/at peace - that's great.
Dutch love me but won't let me entre their lands since England is at war with Holland
1st question - can I influence politics toward England making peace with Holland ? I would like to be able to enter dutch lands too.

Ambiguous situation 1 : sometimes a ship surrender upon boarding - no matter what I choose then (other than reload and destroy the ship) officers(good people) loyalty drops <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />.
Is there a decision tree that will avoid loyalty droping in such situation (I haven't found one)?
Ambiguous situation 2:
I have tens of prisonners captains that I saved along with goods floating when sinking ships - I would like to get rid of them but no matter which way I choose - ransom or let them free in some town - officers (good people) loyalty drops. Is there some other way to get rid of them without officers loyalty dropping ?

"What to do ?What do I do?"

Don't think so. You can, however, buy a trade licence from a diplomat in a pirate tavern, then sail in under a Dutch flag. When stopped at the pier you show your licence and are allowed into the town.

Yeah, don't remove the captain, let the ship go.

That's odd, in my experience freeing prisoners makes my rep and the loyalty of good-aligned officers skyrocket. Well, for pirates anyway. Not so sure about national officers, since I don't get many of those.

National officers can be freed on their own nations governors, the payment is higher and your reputation raised, so I suppose that loyalty of your good officers will also be raised.

BEST REGARDS

You're right , yet doing good deeds , right things , seems to lower loyalty of middle aligned officers - like Jeremy and Ned ("regular sailor") - his very high loyalty drops no matter what the choice - good or evil. That's what bothers me . Iknow I cant lose them ,but ... I imagine they are very good friends and I intend to keep the friendship as it is (no loyalty droping).

Doing the right things, all the time and to anybody will always result with someone unhappy in the end

Yeah, it's a very good thing quest officers don't leave. What about other captains that you convince to join you, though? Do they stay forever too?

i don't know if other (curageous) captains tay with you.I imagine that is not the case - in movies there are always differences of opinion that break succesful partnerships like those.

Quest officers loyalty (Ogl, Peet, english musketeer, etc.) sooner or later will be zero. But they never leave. This feature of the quest officers.

Are you sure that it will become 0 ? Cause I tried hard and I have a rather high level and their loyalty only droped a very tiny bit.
I mean - are you sure am I only delaying the inevitable(unavoidable) ?

You very much tried to support their loyalty. It isn't necessary to be the hostage of own officers.
