ya for freedom!

I think it is barbarian, i have seen a fragment just minutes before his hanging. I felt a bit sorry for him. I think that they could better put him in jail for a life time. To think about what he has done.

My opinion about capital punishment: "Why kill people, who kill people, to show that killing people is wrong?"

dude, four things about hanging

1 - sunnies are pissed
2 - no footage of his DEATH!
3 - he can be faked death, and still living but undercover and giving us Information.
4 - closes the book on alot of problems many don't want to deal with, need to hand him over, or give him to terrorist demands? nope he's offically dead can't do that.

hanging was the only political solution, if he was in jail there would be riots for general public woulf be afrid he might be let out with new government.

so if he's dead, masses are happy and not afraid, governments can't complain, and he can still be alive helping us.

These are guilty ==>"Why kill people, ... who kill people,.."<== these were innocent.

" ... to show that killing people is wrong?" <==The premise is wrong.

It is to show that killing the innocent is wrong.

Agreed Capn' Thomas, and not because yer Dutch mate...

It is undisputible fact that whether Saddam is alive or dead, there would be and there is civil war and unrest raging in Iraq. Maybe, his death will bring Middle East closer to peace, but from the human point, I am against death penalty.

Within hours of his death, at least 68 Iraqis died in bombings. In northwest Baghdad, two parked cars exploded killing 37 civilians and wounding 76. Another 31 people died and 58 were hurt south of the capital.

views?

Petros you say that the part to show killing people is wrong, is to show that killing innocent people is wrong. But if the goverment kills people they arent innocent anymore. Then people could think that they could take the rights in own hands. Because if they THINK that someone is wrong, they just gonna kill them. There are idiots who think they are right on that moment. And i think that the government is just as low as the murderer when they kill him.

I am against deathpenalty, no matter what the person has done. The worst part of death penalty is that people KNOW that they soon gonna be death. The fear before that moment is more cruel than the execution himself.

sorry about graphic content, won't do that again.

other then that, the moive has it.... but again, thank god people are brought to justice.

Killing Saddam Hussein was not the only wrong thing that has been done in the second Gulf War. The motives for attacking the country of Iraq were lies, and the true ones barbaric and selfish. He may have deserved death or life-sentence, but not this way. This was wrong. Right now, people ain't better off than they were. Is this progress, did killing Hussein and many more innocents solve anything?

The cost of freedom has never been cheap mates, History of mankind should tell you that any ruthless leader who used and slaughterd innocent men, women and children in the end got what they deserved.
Makes me appreciate the freedom we have here, because just from some of the comments you mates wrote here, under Saddam's Gov't you would most likely be lead out into a public arena and shot inthe head to make an example out of you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Hanging Saddam sounds pretty medieval to me. Seems that we didn't make as much progress in the last 1000 years as we like to think.

It was not the idea of the western world to hang him. The iraques did. Still, some people think like they did in those times, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.

Pieter: in the medieval time he would be decapitated for treason against people. hanging was for common thieves.

Anyways, alltough the western democracy ( well, at least in some countries ) lay on the individual rights on freedom and life, the iraqi people yet needs to learn about democracy unimposed from the foreign troops, and afterall maybe they dont want it in the way the west developed it.

there are plenty of cases when right on freedom was abuse in the worst way, and then it turned to be empty cause.

hmmm... today, i feel deep...

cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
