Sailor Music

well, i already knew all that. and you actually can put the music in battle. but you should know that yourself. the point is: the music playing in battle would only be that song, but shiver my timbers seems right for that. glad to hear that the sound level is ok. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> that's rather important for me.

one warning: the program loads all songs at the same time, and there is a limit to how much audio files can be played, so eventually the program will start removing other sound effects. this can be solved by putting the music files in two seperate folders, but you will have to change music_alias.ini in a way that it will look in the right folder. it is also advisible to put all the music files for the same location in the same folder to reduce loading times for the music and decrease the risk of possible problems.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Great. Oh and don't worry about the Pirate King. In my professinal opinion, it sucks. Great Job guys. Thanks to Jack Black and morgan terror for helping put this together. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Horay, first mod I helped create <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

i put shiver my timbers in as a battle song in my game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> 'shicer my timbers, shiver my sails. dead men tell no tales!' <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

Okay 2 things:

1)how do I increase the volume (they are to quiet)

2)how do I make the songs play longer? Most of them get halfway thorough then move on to the next song

i don't know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> the volume problem has always been there with converted files and i think that the sound is cut off because you have to many sound files.

i could make them louder if you like. i just got a sound converter. its a free trial ATM, for 10 days. but i can do plenty of things in 10 days. the only day i'll be busy is tomorrow, i think, unless the school says otherwise, so i'll be around to help with alot of stuff...

just give me the names of what you'd like converted, and i'll fix them up for you...

the songs he means are on the FTP server in 'pirate songs'. i have the program too now, but only a trial version of course. after it expires i'll come to you for anyhting i'd like done. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Great. Let me know when it's done.

There is a cheap but complicated way to raise up the volume.
You have to convert the.ogg files back into wave files then converted them into mp3. I use <a href="http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/download.html" target="_blank"><b>CDex Vers. 1.5.1</b></a> for this. It is freeware. Then I use <a href="http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php" target="_blank"> <b>MP3Gain Vers. 1.2.5</b></a> (it is freeware, too) to raise up the volume some dB, but not too much <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> You have to test which volume sounds right for you.
Then I converted the mp3 file back into wave and then to .ogg.
It's very complicated but it worked and it doesn't cost anything but time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

nelson is using the same program as me. he said he figured it out. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> he also found a very easy way of tuning up the volume.

my way is similar to Jack Black's. what i do, is convert the music from .ogg to .wav, then chop bits off and increase the volume using the Sound Recorder that comes stock with Windows XP [maybe the others as well. i dont remember]. after i'm done messing around, i convert it back into .ogg, rename it to the appropriate song name, and put it into the game!

well, i tried again with the volume, but i don't know yet if it works right. if it doesn't i'll put the files i'd like converted WITH the correct sound level on the FTP server. if i can, i'll convert them into WAV for you. you mentioned chopping bits off...i'll tell you which bits i'd like removing, if any at all.

ask when you decide you need help <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

well, right now as it turns out. turned out that the volume is till way to soft. i'm uploading them onto the FTP server. they should be up there in about two and a half hours. *groan* <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> if you would believe it, they are only six files. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

in Ogg? or Wav?
well, when it's up, either send a PM to me, or say something here. i'll respond as soon as i can. i've got a bit of work to do soon it'll last an hour...when i get back, i'll try to fix it, though, for some reason, the FTP says i dont have permission to upload anything... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

WAV. and guess what: it's going even slower! yay! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

ok, i've just put them up in their original format, as it was simply taking way to long. they should be up there in five minutes (EDIT: that turned out to be the first file, it's gonna take much longer, maybe one and a half hour). there are two files with the same name, but one of them is the remnant of my first attempt. the other should have more files in it.

DONT MAKE IT WAV! i have a converter, remember!? i can convert it into Wav and back after i get it. sending it in Wav makes it take longer for you, and longer for me. it'll take longer to download!

EDIT: what is the original format? try .Ogg format, if you can reconvert them back to the original. if not, nevermind. i'll wait. just drop me a PM when it's done. the reason i say .Ogg is because it's better quality than MP3, and nearly the same size, so even the 10 minute long music is only about 3000 KB, if that.

@ Sauron: my favourite songs of the Pirate music you put up are: 1) The Legend of Davy Jones [ i am almost literally in love with this song! dont know why, but i love it! it makes Davy Jones look so cool! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> ], and 2) Shiver my timbers [interesting..do you know any other cool ones that have a similar style as these 2, as far as the way the music goes and the lyrics?]

i put the songs on the FTP server. in fact, they al ready where before you posted that. there should be six of them. please check if they are complete. i had some difficulties uploading them. i love the shiver my timbers song. i actually know it by heart. completely.

you are the proud witnesses of my 1111th post! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Great Guys!!! Thanks alot. I'm uploading the new sound files NOW! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
