Sails not able to change

I have the latest version of Beyond Horizons from itch.io.

I cannot seem to customize my sails. Any clues as to why? In my options file, I tried selecting every single sail option and none of it worked. In the game, it still allows me to customize it in the sails screen menu but when I go test it out at sea, it reverts back to default blank weathered sails.

Please advise and thank you for your time.

I know that starting the default storyline starts you out with red sails, so that at least was working.

Apologies, I meant in the main menu where you select your preferences regarding sails. I tried every single option in there and failed to adapt to the game. I will give another update as soon as I try some stuff out.
