Ships and some questions

Hi Fellow Pirates

I have a few wishes or suggestion to the Pirates team or to the modders out there.

I love all the ships that you can get in the game. However, where is the Man O' War? Could it be that it is probably the same as Ship of the Line which I have never encountered thus far? I just saw that in the game dictionary or glossary with a pic which looks the same as some lesser ships with only one gun deck.

As according to the game glossary this is the grandest ship in the game it is indeed a pity that it looks exactly the same as any other Galleon. Also, should the big warships have more cannon than the 48 which I think is in fact the Ship of the Line maximum capacity, should that not be close to 100 cannon? Multiple decks and all?

Does anyone know or have heard that a few additional ship models might be worked on or do you think it is possible that they might spoil us with extra models in a patch?

Not every sub type of ship needs to look different but the Ship of the Line should definately stand out.

Also, the status page where you few your current ships are very restrictive. Would have been nice to get info about amount of cannon etc. when you click on the particular ship in your list that you own.

Thoughts anyone?

Regards,
Gian

Yeah, I find the ship variation rather lacking. Instead of 9 types and 3 of each (small, medium, large... and would you like fries with that? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ), I'd rather have all 27 of them be different types.

If each ship has fixed states instead of only 9 types and the small/med/large stats interpolated, it may be possible to make all 27 different. I'd like that.

The stats thing would be nice, too. Right now you can't tell how many guns a ship will actually use.

Here are a couple of ingame shots of the Ship of the Line:

Note, this was from the Betatest of the game... The SOTL does NOT look like a Galleon, it looks like a HUGE Frigate. It is impressive when you see it, as it is ENORMOUS! I have yet to find one in the two release careers I have played (not finished with this second one yet).

I wonder if they do not occur until a certain year. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I keep my manual open to the ship stats page and right next to the computer for easy reference, but I agree, having the ship stats available right there in the shipwright's interface would be VERY handy. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Give these modders some time and they'll have more ship variations dancing around our there than you could shake a sextant at. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
