That's why i was <i>just asking</i>.
 
Hopefully that's the end of it and there will be no more political talk. People need to keep their real world feelings from taking an attack on their country in the game from bothering them. It's a game and we are all playing to have fun. Personally I don't favor one country or another in the game. Each time I play I pick a different country to be friendly with. Makes for a varied experience and keeps things interesting. Although I can perfectly understand if someone from England always plays as the English, a Frenchmen always plays France, etc... It's ok to be patriotic. If the colonies were included, I would probably almost always play as them, but as an American and not being represented in the game, I have the luxury of choosing my loyalties on a whim. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" />

Why don't you get in good with the Indians and kick out the New World Intruders in this game?
Everything in this game -- is a cheat to help you. Use your original ship and crew. Know your way around? Go and change resolution to 640 x 480 mode and only use the chase view of your ship, and zoom in all the way with the Plus or Minus keys on the keypad. Quit using the cheats built into this game, and be a Pirate!

And anyway, all you needed was nothing but a ship and crew, and pick up the overboard people and barrels in ship battles by passing over them.

In other words, use your imagination, and just play the game.
The only thing you needed was the Top Ten Pirate List, and then the bounty on ye head from every Nationality.

And the rest will be your story to write down.
And have a Pirates! Day!

I don't mind personal opinions but what I do dislike is the complete negative; `anti-US` attitude many people have adopted. Like anyones government has done nothing wrong. Write a letter to Bush if you have a problem, personally I'm sick of going from game forum to game forum and finding the same comments.

In pirate games I nearly always play English, not sure why. I mostly like fighting against Spain since they always seem to be the supreme power in every pirate game, especially this one. But I get more pleasure sinking the French, brings a smile to see that flag in shreds <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Too Captain Shadow... ive played the game and have found a number of simple fixes the team that developed pirates could have fixed or "improved on" as ggaarryy mentioned there were a number of small "things" that could have been improved on,its people like you who i assumed beta tested and who defend such annoying irregularities who will always be happy with their lot,others like myself who have been gaming for over 20 years and who see brilliant games and all too often a game put out that has such promise but tends too always fall short as if the game makers themselves ( yes that is you too sid) who seem just a little out of touch with what would turn a good game into a brilliant game,choose your beta testers more carefully,plenty more too say i assure you but suffice for now it is my lot,think outside the square my friends.
 
Bah. Enjoy the game for what it is, not for what it could have been. I thought of plenty of things I would love to see implemented with an expansion pack.

Will they ever happen? Perhaps not.

No game is perfect. No game. And especially not off the shelf. There will ALWAYS be bugs or imperfections or something that someone disagrees with.

arrrrg , the u.s propagande ! Dear all , i'm sorry but the deal food against petrol was controled for more than 80 % by U.S gouvernement.
But anyway , you're right in a way there were economics reasons for France not to be involve : `it-s` because during the kowiet war when french was helping u.s , at the end of the war , u.s thank france with nothing more than : thanks and now get out and don't thing you gonna make any money in rebuilding kowiet , althought it was according before the war ...

But anyway i'm sorry for beginning a post aboutthat in this forum.

So I would participate about pirates :
I like it because it's simple, easy and full of pleasure.
There is no politics : you can destroy a ship then going into a town of it's own,
dancing with the girl of that gouvernor too ...etc
anyway with a little more (more of commercial part, more of differents combats , it could have been a hit !!)

As far as I know this is impossible. When you take over a town you cannot install indians as the new governor. You have no choice but to install more new world intruders. So it really defeats the purpose of trying to ally with the indians. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Don't forget how English colonials rebeled against their king to establish a country called USA.
