some newbie questions

Hi, i ve just started playing the game but stuck with a problem, i cannot dock with villages... for exmaple Martinique, i cant visibly see the town on the global map, then i tried to move near to the visible beach, then switch to sailing mode. but i all see there are the beach, no port at all. in my fast command control i cant see the "move to port" kind of option either... so i cant dock with village at all? please help.

Also, I got two swords by defeating some pirate captains, but i cannot equip them. is there any restrictions on such?

Sorry! just realised that i mistook Dominica as martinique! my bad

but still, i cant use some equipments such as a mercury sword... any hints please? thanks
 
To equip swords you have to have a high enough rank for that sword, right click mouse on sword it gives you sword stats and rank you need to equip sword <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
