yes i did and it said files were missing then it just closed

Ok,
We've tackled this problem before, so I will give you the same advice as I have to others before & that is to totally uninstall the POTC game completely from your hard drive.

Then install the stock POTC.
Then install the Build 12.
Then install the Build 12.1
Then download & install the Updates.

The stock POTC Game should go to the Program Files Directory & when you unzip the Builds you just unzip them to the POTC Game Folder.
The Window you have when you go to select where you want to unzip to should look like either

THIS

Where do you download JUST Build 12? All I was able to find was 12.1... maybe thats the problem with my install.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

go to the piratesahoy main page, click on files in the links, click on the PotC folder, its the last one under post build 12.1 modpack

to SuoiveD
i'll try that any see what happens, i will let you know if it works

i did everything, i installed all the mods, and the latest update, i extracted them, i ran the build 12 first then i tried to run the update and they just ask the Y/N question and i answer yes and it just closes again
so i ran the post build 12 and it asked the question, i answered yes and it just closed

The English.bat is supposed to close after you answered "yes" to the questions. If you run the game, what does it look like?

Have you been able to find any "extract/unzip" button? Have you made sure that you install, extract and unzip every installation file to the SAME folder?

the english.bat starts off with saying 1 files copied many times and rushes right through the process and dosent even let me answer yes or no before it closes
then i run the LangSwithEnabler and it asks me if im sure (y/n), i said yes, then it closes without doing anything else

when i was done, i ran the game to see what happens and the screen came up with the build 12 modpack screen not the post build 12 modpack screen, is there a difference between them?
i installed, extracted, and unziped in the program files/Bethesda Softworks/pirates of the caribbean folder on the main hard drive

I was refering to this statement. He mentioned Build 12, THEN Build 12.1, THEN the Post build mod and updates. I cannot find for download just "Build 12". It is not on PiratesAhoy files page. Only Build 11 and Build 10 exist there before Build 12.1.

Honestly... people need to refer to proper files. Or the files need proper versioning. Either way, its confusing to say "12" or "12.1" when you are talking about post build mod 12.1, or the full build mod 12.1. Personally I think the naming convention used right now leads a lot to be desired. There needs to be proper version numbers for all updates, so there is no confusion.

When you extract to the Pirates of the Caribbean folder, does it ask you about overwriting files? If it doesn't, then you have not extracted properly.

Each time you apply a patch, update, build, the process is to extract onto the Pirates of the Caribbean folder, and it will ALWAYS ask you about overwriting files. You want to say "Yes to All". This is a vital process. Just extracting files into a folder inside of the POTC folder, wont work.

If you cant get the extraction to work right, then unzip/extract all files into their own folder, and manually drag and drop all contents of each folder in each subfolder into your POTC folder where they should go, overwriting each file as you go. Insane process, this is why it should be done with the extraction process.

Don't run LangSwitcher.
Don't run Russian.

Post Build Mod (up to current update) has a DISTINCTLY different looking loading screen, and main menu. You will know when you are running it after a proper install.

Thats ok,
Next time someone has a problem we'll just refer them to you seeing as you reckon you have the answers. I certainly don't mind, gives me more game time.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> I have same trouble to try to install builds to game and it no work for me and i give up on it.
i will now try tips from here and if to make work? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

ya know what?
forget this, it is too confusing and frustrating
i dont need the mod to run the game anyway and i have had to start a new game about six times trying to get it to work and by the time i do, i will be so sick of the game i wont play it and i will have just wasted my time with the mod
thanks for all the help but im done with it

Im not fighting with anyone, just saying " Next time someone has a problem we'll just refer them to IncredibleHat seeing as he reckons he has the answers. I certainly don't mind, gives me more game time ".

Whatever... *gives the high flying middle finger*... I ask an honest question, and I get slammed. Screw you too.

And vengeance, if you don't want to deal with the game, fine... it aint complicated, but whatever.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

The full moon is still a week away and already we're feeling the effects.

Chill out, people.

SuoiveD, think hard about chastising someone else for helping. I've seen enough people who couldn't understand what one person was trying to tell them and had to have another person explain it. That's all that happened here.

IncredibleHat, be careful with replies... someone might think you were attacking him without provocation, even though we both know it was provoked.

It should be over in about a week and we can go back to normal.

Hook, who doesn't want to be a net nanny but is also affected by the full moon. Be glad this was friendly. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<u>IncredibleHat</u>

I apologise if what I said offended you. My Bad, maybe I should've worded it differently, wasn't meant to offend anyone.

<u>Hook</u>

Again it seems that what I had written came across in the Wrong context & I apologise if it did. I wasn't chastising anyone for anything.

<u>Vengeance</u>

What IncredibleHat said to you & I quote

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->if you don't want to deal with the game, fine... it aint complicated, but whatever.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

He is correct, the game isn't complicated, it's easier than a lot of other games.

Do we really need the hostility? We're only trying to help each other, right?

At the moment, installing the Post Build 12 mods is rather complicated, I admit and for that I apologize. I promise that Build 13 will be at least as easy to install as Build 12.1. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

Well I wasn't being hostile but it seems that what I wrote was taken the wrong way.
