Well when I click on passengers or select my sails or anything like that, my computer sometimes RESTARTS and my saved game becomes corrupt so I HAVE TO RESTART FROM BEGINNING or an earlier saved game, also when i exit the menu I sometimes cant move at all i just stand ther i cant turn move
and I can't even access the menu anymore which means I HAVE to RESTART my comp and again my saved game becomes corrupt and this is starting to really ruin my game for me anyway just wanted to know is this a known bug or is it just me and if it is just me CAN SOMEONE HELP ????????

I have not heard from this before. What version of the game are you using? Build 12 or Post Build 12? If you're using Post Build 12, it might be too buggy at the moment... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Post build 12 but it happened WITHOUT the mod too.
PLEASE HELP!!! now whenever i click on the passengers button IT REBOOTS MY COMPUTER....

Which means I can't have any officers at all.

Any ideas on what to do?
 
It even happened without the mod? Now that IS odd. Something must be wrong with your computer then and not with the mod. Unfortunately, I have no idea about what actually might be the problem... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

PS: The rebooting when i clicked on passengers happened before i installed the mod but not the NOT being able to move and accessing menu.

if it helps the reboot problem seems to happen mainly in Redmond.

Zolo: welcome Matey, I have had and seen a lot of different bugs...but this aint one of them. I hate to suggest this, "but" I think your install may be corrupted.....you probably would be better off deleting your setup, and re-installing game from scratch, it might save you in the long run.....

P.S. A little trick Pieter taught me.....because he complies and re-installs so many of the builds he has kept a WinRar copy or Zipped copy of the basic POTC install + build 12 + post Build 12 up to March 5 2006, I believe, "he can edited this or reply anytime" but that way if you ever test or get a new update that doesn't work well.....you can just delete, and uncompress your new game right away from a storage area, and you r off and running in no time. This has worked like a charm ever since I started using this method. Also this "clean install" is supposed to be bug free if you only compress up to a certain time......very playable and then you only add new stuff that has been tested or stuff you want to help test, but then it is your choice!

Good luck...and trust me, a lot of us have gotten major frustrations from starting new games with the different builds and mods and ended up dumping them after finding game ending bugs, too many times.....( Sometimes wonder why I keep testing new ones, cause I want to play as well....probably Pieter will agree also )....and yes getting upset and depressed is part of it....but it is rewarding someday....at least they tell me that!!!! ........Bahahahaha
 
well guess I'll try that...

So what do I need to do exaclty take the setup from disc one and the 2 datas with the data 3 from disc 2 and put it in a folder or do I need more files also I thought of a theory do I need to install any updates BEFORE installing build 12 because that might be it.

This idea is to put your entire PotC folder into a zip after installation. No point putting the setup files in a zip. There are no updates you need to install before Build 12.
 
Hey guys I have just noticed that there is a file in Disc 2 called "Last minute" and inside there is a RESSOURCE and a PROGRAM file maybe these 2 aren't installing properly do you think this could be the problem?

I have also noticed that once i have unziped the build 12 mod there seeems to be an installation file in the Potc file with a b12 update but when i run it it says that "connection to server error" or something like that then it asks me to abort or retry... retrying doesn't work. So maybe I've installed b12 work ?!?
 
I think the Last minute folder should also be installed. You can try putting it in manually, just to be sure.

The B12 update program used an online server, but that server has been down forever. You don't need that program though.

Right guys have done what you told me and it still does it.
What bothers me it seems to be a random occurence its not like everytime i click the passengers button it Rebbots my comp. And now the problem has excalated further as now in the Rewards after sea battles page when i click cannons or another button ITS REBOOTING MY COMP !!!

I really cannot play the game like this ANY help would REALLY be appreciated NOW !!!

I wished I knew what caused it. It sounds as if it's not the game in particular causing trouble, but it sounds as if your computer isn't liking the game very much or something like that. i would like to say that THIS doesnt seem to be happening as much with the 30 april update, maybe a mod or some code was changed but its definetly not doing it as often, which I am happy about but like before the problem seems to occur in redmond in particular so my guess its something in redmonds code but unfortunetly its not the only place it happens so that theory is can't really be true.
 
You mentioned you have this problem in the straight-out-of-the-box game as well, didn't you? If so, it is not because of our mods. Did that problem occur with the stock unmodded game as well?
 
yep which is y my theory doesnt hold out.
but like i said it seems to happen alot less like 1000 X less than before i got the 30 april patch so THANK YOU lol.
 
Ok guys, I've been checking in on this problem, and I have figured something out, everytime this bug happens it's linked to RYS BLOOM.

If I want to put him in my passengers, it bugs.
If I want to save After he has joined me, It bugs.

So if this helps with any solution give me a reply plz!!!!

PS: A solution other than not letting RYS BLOOM join my crew. lol
