OKay mateys...

I need a pirate gaming fix. I can't bear to play Pirates! Gold anymore as I don't want to wear out the concept before the new version comes out. What can I play in the meantime. The last pirate game I attempted was the original Cutthroats about 5 years ago or so and it was pretty dismal. Are there any titles out there that might be good to tide me over till November?

I'm stilling playing with my copy of Pirates of the Carribean having had it for around a year now. The original game has some odd things to it that the various builds done by the modders on this, and other sites, have done that make the game a more worthwhile experience. The thing I never get tired of in POTC is the graphics. I've heard the price for the game is not too high, and it should certainly tide you over until Pirates! II shows up and starts to interfere with all of our sleep schedules.

Cutthroats, argh, I never could get that game to work! :x I liked attacking the towns, but that game crashed on me so many times that I finally scuttled it.

If'n ye already has Battlefield 1942, thar be a great mod fer it called, ye guessed it, Battlefield Pirates! It be a `multi-player`, first person shoot 'em upper, pittin' de Skull Clan vs. de Peg Legs! Thanks for the advice gang. Sold my copy of BF1942 last month so no dice there. I'll probably take a look at POTC since it needs to be pirate themed..

Arrg! Off to ebay. And thank ye Fred Bob for the grog!
 
Well, I went ahead an bought POTC...

Visually it is awesome. The interface is quite possible the worst I have ever seen. I'll stick with it for a while to see if the interface gets any more intuitive.
