Sorry a couple more dumb questions...

Still playing (and very much enjoying B13), but was wondering...

1. Can you disable the main plot - I want to start again and just be a pirate without the plot

2. I'm close to finishing the main plot but have hit a dead end. I've just been reunited with my crew, gone to the tavern, discovered the old lighthouse man is in greenford jail, but when I go there, there is no-one to be seen?!?

Thanks.

........And don't forget to draw your saber! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

Thanks but I already did that (chopping up the british guards that were foolish enough to cross my path) and am now stuck as to what to do next

Next is sailing to Greenfort Fort and capture it. You have to blow up
the Forts cannon, having done that you have to capture the Fort!

If ye ask me,there IS a way to go away with the plot, when talking with Malcolm in the deck choose the lowest option.
It will be a lil hard in the beginning, but ye get a sack!

you never even have to follow the main plot. i rarely do. just for the cash and xp.

When you finish those stupid guards you should exit lighthouse. Then, Danielle should talk with you and suggest attack on Greenford. Then, after selecting to execute that plan immediately, you should be teleported on your ship to the bay near fort. You must capture that fort and then fight in port and on the streets of Greenford. After you kill all English soldiers you'd go to prison and find Clement there. And the main quest should follow...

There's no point in disabeling the main quest. You can simply choose not to play it. If you never tell the Redmond governor about the French attack, the main quest doesn't start and you can do whathever you like. Oxbay will be captured, but that is all. You can also play the main quest until Oxbay is liberated and, after that, simply don't continue the quest anymore but do what you want instead.

or almost any other moment. there are some moments where you are forced to follow the main quest, but these are very few.

The French invasion can't be avoided whathever you do. And once the French invasion occurred, there will always be a "Something will be happening here" note at Redmond until you talk to the guard in front of the Redmond mansion. Other than that there is nothing forced.

well, it depends on what you consider important. i'd rather not loose that sloop i have to escort to gray rock bay because of a detour. one thing that IS forced (for as far as i know) is that when you get in the alcove, you can't get out unless you play on. you also have to battle the black pearl when it appears the second time.

Of course. But that is AFTER you chose to play the main quest. Before you start the main quest, the only things that are forced are the two things I mentioned.
