Speed in first person

Is there a way to slow down your character speed while in first person on your ship there is just no way you can move around that fast, and i am constantly going past the place i want to move to.

the minus button on the num pad slows down time to .5 i think maybe slower.

Actually I was talking about the speed at shich my charachter moves across the deck of the chip while in first person point of view, the plus and minus keys only serve to slow down the game speed (which does slow down the charachter as well) but I would like the game speed to stay the same, and just slow down my charachter.
