Stars???

I just noticed that in my game I am seeing no stars in the sky. Was it always like this? Were they there before and I just forgot?

I never touched any files that had to do with enviroments or weather. I would just assume that they were never in the game, but the resouce folder contains star data, planet data and texures for all of those. Somehow they just aren't enabled.
