Storm problem fixed in Alpha 9.5 patch 1?

I've hit the infamous storm bug where Beckett runs up, arrests me, I'm automatically put on his ship, storm cutscene follows, then it shows the loading screen for the shore, the coin loading icon goes away but the loading screen stays in place. Essentially it just crashes.

I have Alpha 9.5 as well as patch 1. Is there a simple line of code I have to replace to fix this problem? I've already searched the forums but couldn't seem to find a definitive answer. Help is appreciated.

Can you please enable error logging and post your error log on the thread after this happens?
I did think all the bugs about the lighthouse scene had been fixed but I may be wrong.
Please download the fixes (if you havn't already) and see if that fixes it. <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?s=&showtopic=13419&view=findpost&p=323663" target="_blank">Click Here</a> to go to the thread where the fix is located

I think I have it right here. Does it show up as a txt file called "compile"?

I'm a total n00b to this stuff so just bear with me. What information specifically do you need? Cause there's a lot of stuff in here that doesn't seem relevant to any potential errors.

It shows up as a txt file called "error" in the same spot as the "compile", however submit both those files

I didn't get any txt file "error". Just the compile. I set the engine.ini accordingly. I must have skipped a step somewhere. Let me try and get it again.

I really need an "Error" txt file as well. As the compile looks like it should
I'll just reply to this thread <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Whoa...No idea how, but suddenly it's working.

Oh! I think it's cause I had those two fixes in the wrong places. When I extracted them, they extracted themselves in a network of folders. When I deleted that useless chain of folders and put them where they were supposed to be, I started the game back up to do an error log and the storm scene stuff loaded up just fine. Awesome!

And still no error log file! But the problem is solved so I guess it doesn't matter <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" /> Much appreciated!

Sometimes you just don't get error log files for errors unfortunately. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

So how do you solve it exactly? I am also a noob, dont know much about computers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Download and install these fixes located: <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?s=&showtopic=13419&view=findpost&p=323663" target="_blank">Here!</a>

This one works: <a href="http://www.moddb.com/mods/new-horizons/downloads/legend-of-jack-sparrow-fixes" target="_blank">http://www.moddb.com/mods/new-horizons/dow...k-sparrow-fixes</a>

Make sure the files end up in the correct folder; the ZIP contains a subfolder that shouldn't really be there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Thanks for posting the link Pieter!

As for the subfolder that shouldn't be there I should have done something about that sorry <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> but as this is only a temp fix I won't worry about putting up a new copy (read the Readme!)

Well when I play the game, and go see Cutler Beckett at the Lighthouse, the dialog starts, then there is the storm video, after that I can see the coin on the lower right side of the screen that means its loading, but then nothing happens, the screen stays black even if I can still hear and talk to someone in front of Jack Sparrow (after talking to him I hear the quest book update noise).
Any ideas? I did install the fix...

Uhm... wait for the next patch? Should be along soon... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Um.... can you please enable error logging and see if you get a txt file called "error" in your main directory and if you do post it hear so I can have a look?

No it isn't... I think you will need to wait for the next patch to come out (which won't be long)
