How do you cope with multiple opponents when sword fighting???

that's not exactly nessesary, but it does indeed help. for instance, i can defeat 4 enemies attacking me at once (thus being surrounded) without toughness. it happened pretty much unintentionally in build 12.1. i entered a house, and got surrounded by 4 bandits who all started attacking me. bit of a crash-course in blocking. i can't defeat 6 at the same time though, but that has happened only once.
