System Requirements?

Hello there. Does anyone know what the system requirements are for COAS? Are they the same as or near Age of Pirates?

The reason I ask is that I'm not on a very good computer as far as my video goes. I just put in a Geforce6200 pci card. In a lot of ways Its worse than the onboard graphics my computer has. However, this card of all things does allow me to play Pirates of the Caribbean.

I dont know the system specs, maybe someone else does. But rest assured, the CoAS Storm Engine version will not use the latest technology like the newest shaders and functions in directx 10.1.
If your graphics card is a GForce6200, its newer than my ATI X800 - and i am counting on playing COAS on everything high.
As in the case of every role playing game with large scenarios, it all comes down to the amount of RAM installed in your computer.
If you only have 512MB ram installed, the game will run mainly from your harddisk via the windows pagefile, and it will cause some stuttering, making gameplay very inconvenient.
Its your lucky day. Ram is very cheap :)

Thanks for the reply. I'll just hope it works. I'm on a second hand computer not made for gaming so I won't spend money on it. I'll just have to wait until I can swing getting a new pc. Unfortunately this pc I'm on only has one open bus slot and its pci. From what I've been told, pci isn't optimal whatsoever and the 6200 I just got is apparently a low end card. Like I said earlier, some games that I could get away with playing on the pc's onboard graphics actually run WORSE with this 6200. But the plus side is that POTC is able to run.

Requirements should be right about exactly the same as AoP: Caribbean Tales.

I'll see if I can dig up the specs somewhere.

Aye, Balladeer, the 6200 isn't that great of a graphics card - I've got one too, and games that ran great on the old 4400 I used to have run poorly on the newer card. Go figure. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Does the latest storm engine use shader 2.0? I'm just wondering something. Thankfully I can run POTC okay and even with the Build mod albeit a little slower depending on the conditions. I noticed that in screenshots of Age of Pirates it looks like the ships now have lanterns that also reflect off of the water. Just wondering if that little detail is just a new feature that has been enabled with basically the same technology or if it actually represents a technology that will be even more demanding.

According to Akella's Russian web page...

System requirements:
Windows XP (rus), Pentium IV 1.5 GHz, 256 MB RAM, 64 MB 3D video card (GeForce 4 level and above, except for a series of fixed and MX), sound card, 7.2 GB free hard disk space, 24h CD-ROM ( 8x DVD-ROM), keyboard, mouse, DirectX 9.0c or higher

Oh that game will run like milk on my rig. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

What's with listing a keyboard and mouse as requirements? Who doesn't have those? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Man, good point. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

And does bread walk too?

No you misunderstood the point. I meant that when you put milk in a cup for example.. pour in? it then moves/flows into the cup.

Did I misunderstand you? Or was I just being silly on purpose? You may well never know.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Yeah, I know you were silly on purpose.. and you are pointing out the obvious. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Oh... REALLY...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

That Deepy's silly? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Nah... in this case it was ME being silly. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
