On one of the pages I went to it said that one of the things that ye'r judged on is the beuty o' your wife. If you can only marry the govener's daughter, then you really can't choose how beutiful she is. Can you marry someone who isn't her? Or can you marry more than one person. There are many cities with many different governors in the Caribbean islands. Just choose the most beautiful daughter you can find, and seduce.

In the Pirates! Gold version of the game, it seems like you could marry the merchant's daughter as well. But yes, there is enough variations in Governor's Daughters to keep it interesting. Every town has it's own governor.

@Captain Toast: That was really usefull if you wanted to be a peaceful Trader, by which, of course, you got nowhere and that right fast. Marrying her and being a pirate wasn´t that profitable, her father paid a lot less for the plunder, the greedy bastard. Besides, I never married unless at least five years at sea, by then almost every governor´s daughter or niece was my lover and there weren´t many to choose. But getting married got a lot of points, and a daughter brought more than a niece.
