Next ship is the HMS Speedy a 14x 4lbs Brig.
HMS Speedy built at Dover 1782. After the Seven Years' War the Royal Navy introduced a new class of brig in 1778. Fast and nimble, the two-masted square-riggers were used as dispatch boats and for convoy protection. Probably the most famous Royal Navy brig was HMS Speedy. She is remembered as the vessel in which Lieutenant Thomas Lord Cochrane, appointed captain Mar 28, 1800, acquired his reputation as one of the most enterprising officers of his day. Speedy was escorting a slow transport when she was set upon by three French frigates. After several hours of combat, Cochrane was forced to haul down his flag. Speedy's subsequent career is unknown, but it is doubtful that she entered French service.

The HMS Speedy is now ready. :dance

Look forward to seeing this at sea when you have finished pgargon. And i will be adding her to my game for sure. :onya

Pgargon, You continue to astound me!!! I played today on two of your ships and the wood grains on the railings of a couple of the ships and new skins you did look almost real! They look like they've been fine sanded. I've never felt more realistically immersed in the game. Thank you Mate!

I would give you my first born child if you would look at the 1660s/70s in future sometime:

an English 1st rater like HMS Prince

an English 3rd rate like HMS Lennox

a serious (properly done) 1st and 2nd rate Dutch Man o War like Zeven Provincien or Eendracht.

A small Pinnasship like the Berlin

Would be in heaven.

MK

Thanks modernknight1, but I think the first-born child is better off with them. ;)
I'm building four ships currently on the 18th Century. This is the Colonial schooner Hannah, and two French ships with 74 guns (Le Superbe and Le Glorieux )follow. Then I start with the 17th century ships.
The Ships 17th Century have damned much splendor to their ships and for that I need Texturer pretty good since I only have basic skills. :shrug

Pgargon, I have really detailed Drawings of all the 17th century ships and details you would ever need and will provide. I have large very high quality copies of every ship drawing (both English and Dutch) the Van de Veldes ever did. If you need any resources let me know. My library is extensive and at your disposal. Any request you have for any view of any ship (18th cent as well) and I will post pictures with link. Just ask my friend. You are doing incredible work and I'd like to help if I can.

MK

Texturing help should not be the problem, but the main structures for 17th capital ships (sterns) would mainly have to be modelled.

You say it costs lots of polygons. Incidentally, I'm damn bad character modeller. :shrug
But I try my best. :onya

Gorgeous!!! The only other brig in COAS that rivals it in beauty is the Sophie.....oh yeah, you created that one too! :onya

MK

Congratulations on another job well done! Eventually I'll stick all of those ships of yours into the PotC Build Mod as well. That'll probably result in all British ships being 10 times prettier than the other nations' average ships, which isn't all that fair, but oh well...! :razz
