the little weird glowing ball thingie

at the end of the game, after the ruins, you get a little weird ball... what is it? i tried using it, then it made a lantern light on me ship, and nothing else... : : there is no description of it in the inventory...

It seriously damages the Black Pearl, you can still win without it, but it's hard slog.

it cant damage anyother ships?
well screw that... then ill just light my trusty old pipe with it... or maybe just read a book using its light
