Did Captain Cynicism right the manual? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

The manual mentions the infamous pirate haven of Tortuga ... really ... looks Frenchy to me. Hehe...

It also mentions that you can soften up forts with Grape after you destroy the required amount of cannon. Nope, can't do that either. For instance, Tortuga will fall when it has 11 cannon left of a total of 22. But if you don't have enough soldiers to take it, can you continually pound it with bombs until you can? Nope, can't do that either. By some miracle the soldiers have manager to erect a force field to protect them. You can't take them from land either, or at least I haven't found a way. It looks like some pretty major design concessions have been made between when the manual was written and when the game went gold.

i havent find anytihing about multiplayer gaming in the manual <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

experience shows that games translated from russian to english (or any other language) have a manual quality beyond merely incompetent and misleading, no its inaccuracy is over in the realm of undescribable...

Yeah you actually have to do that in reverse I found. You need to pound it with grape FIRST, and then with bombs second. Once you are given the hot key to land troops you can't fire on the fort anymore.

The problem is ... Who in their right minds would fire grapeshot when being attacked by 60+ cannons!? The other alternative is to volley bombs until you think you are getting close, but still ... That's at least 30 cannons you'd be facing ... This was larger town I tried.
