Yeah it is Drunken, and thanks. A good friend of mine made it for me. I am ticked at this mod. The good thing is that I made a back up of my programs folder and Resources. But I want those new officers. Any help...would bring a round of drinks to all who do.

Ahar and happy sailing...er...yes...!

Well, if you don't succeed, I s'pose you could just rip one skin from the pack, and put it in instead of another one using the same model!

I want those drinks NOW! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Grog for me! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p2" border="0" alt="pirate3.gif" />

Can you turn on error logging?
open engine.ini and change the line to tracefilesoff = 0

Then run again and post the three log files.

They are as follows:

Ah, yes. That's the old "replace Dialog_func.c with the one from the archive" problem.
You see, dialog_func changed after JMV put his pack together. So instead of simply replacing the build one with the one from the uniforms archive, you have to manually bring the new JMV stuff over to the changed file.

It's not a hardware problem at all, just a script compile error.

Get the latest dialog_func.c back (reinstall whatever build you installed).
Then, open it up in notepad.

Open JMV's up in a separate notepad.

Scroll down until they differ. If the difference is the JMV one doesn't have what the build one does, skip; if it's the reverse (new stuff in the JMV one) copy and paste it into the build one. Keep going until you reach the bottom.

A better solution would be to compare them with a differencing utility like WinMerge, which automates that process (well, sorta. It finds the differences, you choose what to keep/change). It's on sourceforge; a google should find it.

Ok, I did that...now it is crashing after the Disney vid...

OK, it looks like somehow various _extra_ script files got messed up.
I'd suggest reinstalling build 11 (or were you using 11.99?).

Then, test it to see if it works.

I have build 11.9e and I have my build program folder and Resources folder intact...But it still doesnt work. I used the paste tool in Winmerge to take the officers and troops modes over to replace the original militrary model.... Any get this thing to work? Im sorry if I sound mad...its just that I like the game...and I wanted the new officers...so...Yeah.

I dont think what I did worked...any ideas would be helpful. I really want to play the game...lol

Reinstall build 12, then install JMV's skinpack, then download this file from the ftp:
JMV575 Mil Skins Code for Build 12.zip

and extract that into your POTC folder and overwrite all. That will update JMV's code to be build `12-compliant`.

Um..where on the FTP is the file...cuz I dont see it. Sorry for being dumb...<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Ah, there we go mates! And without reinstalling again! Splendid, splendid! I shall sail the seas as a British officer for a time. Thanks NathanKell. Works like a charm. Talk to you all later!
