Time acceleration on laptops

Hello ! I'm playing on a laptop computer which doesn't have a keypad. Thus when I wish to accelerate time I can only use th R button which speeds it to 2x. It's okay on land but can be annoying at sea. I've tried looking at the options but no possibility to change the key binding (+ and -) there. I'm no modder so I wouldn't know where to look in the game files. I've seen people mentionning this in the forums but I couldn't find a solution. I hope I wasn't being careless and posting for nothing. What can I do ? Is there a mod I need to download or lines I need to change somewhere ? Tried one solution in the seadogs.c file by the way bit no luck. Any Ideas ? Thanks
