Time Periods in POTC

Well would anyone care to explain the differences between the time periods like colonial powers vs golden age of piracy... it would be really interesting to have a cumulative list of differences (pros an cons in a way) Then maybe throw a poll and see which one is the favorite?

There's no real pro's and cons. The differences are mainly in:
- Soldier uniforms and weapons used
- Blades and guns available
- Names of towns, islands and governors
- Relations between nations
- Nationality of towns
- Flags used at sea
- Ships used at sea

Some obvious differences:
- There's a huge amount of Spanish influence in Early Explorers
- In the final two periods, there are steamships available

the period is a new thing of the build, it still updating, next patch will have much "period accuary" especially town guard weapons and gun randomly met on characters met randomly
