To pin or not to pin....

You should be able to pin unlimited amount of topics, i can't remember if Invision boards had options to set any kind of limit to pinned topics, i don't think it does but could be wrong.

Maybe one pinned BIG INDEX of important threads instead of all this important threads pinned.
The lazy people that doesn´t get the time to read that index or performaing a search will ask again and again questions already solved on a new thread as always... it´ll happen forever, human nature... but in order to keep the threads organised, without compromising the uprising ammount of pinned threads and getting the top part of the Forum overpopulated with pinned threads, an Index of important threads (or a WiKi) will be needed, sooner or later.

Yep pinning topics can lead to clutering up the sticky/announcements section, my suggestion would be as Tahlendorf say's, one topic linking to all important topics that way anyone searching the forum only need ever visit that topic for the link if you like it would be like an FAQ or help directories for COAS. I think its already been done for POTC ok i can't seem to find it so maybe i imagined that one, anyway it would help not only declutter the pinned section but in future questions been asked its a simple have you searched the COAS FAQ topic for your answer and it will help with people searching the net for answer's aswell, but more importantly it keeps the forum clean and tidy and helpfull without the clutter.
