Totem problem (spoilers)

Ok so i finally went to do this quest, only to find that instead of having the 10 correct totems I have 9 and one double. The merchants at port of spain and tortuga will no longer offer me any and I can't finish the quest without it. I only bought two totems, the rest I went out and got at thier locations.
Anyways my question is, has anyone had this problem and found a fix for it?
I'm missing the Mixcoatl-hunting totem and have two Tlaloc-thunder and rain totems. I've tried selling one, losing it, dumping it into a chest, just can't get the merchants to sell me anything else. Really don't want to have to start over for the 4th bloody time.

I would try putting the ones you have in cabin chest (keep only succes one on you) then try the merchants every day till the missing totem appears.It will take a lot.
You can buy whatever other totems provided that they go right in cabin chest till you get the missing one.

I've got almost every totem from Martinique - 5 street merchants + 1 store , but it seems that the game counts the totems you already have on you and if you have more less chance of merchants having totems so I leave them in cabin or on non-fighter officers.Still the counting thing might be just an impression.

You don't have to get ANY from merchants. The ones in Port Spain and Tortuga are on the ground. Port of Spain, look behind the church. Tortuga, look between some houses near the town exit. I might have those backwards, so if that isnt working out, reverse it.

croaker do you know the names of the totems found on these 2 places? and are you for certain that these can be found on the ground cause you seem to be on the only one on the entire forum who claims this.
