just to show that translating the english dialog files is not
that hard! Timeconsuming, yes. So I thing if People have
the org. dialogs, they should be able to replace them with
the english ones?! Correct me if I'm wrong! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

There was a mod, what translates the game to Hungarian. But the page of that is broken ATM, and it seems it won't be available. So it's possible. And a German version would be better for me too. So if someone would like to start to translate the game to German, I'll help.

But support this game the accents? Because I think I've seen the hungarian translation with accents.

Hehe, sehr höflich ausgedrückt für einen Piraten. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Nice, but as you say very timeconsuming.
Where did you change the dialogs? Maybe it can be translated bit by bit and not all the dialogs at once. Maybe I could have a look at it but my time is limited, too.

@Lorati
What do you mean with accents?

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> you can find it in Programs/ Dialogs/English <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Translating the dialogs is quite possible and not very hard, just time-consuming as has been said before. Several <i>ü</i> and <i>ö</i> like character are available, but most are not because the PotC font simply doesn't have these characters. "Solution": Don't use them, but use <i>u</i> and <i>o</i> instead. You can see which character are available in the font texture files in RESOURCE\Textures\FONTS.

A Simple Virtual Sailor is working with several people on translating Build 13 into French. Once the translation is finished, we can add it into the Build 13 full download and people will be able to switch languages through the Options screen.

To use it in german we have to use ae for ä, ue for ü and oe for ö. Looks a little weird for german eyes but I think we can live with that. Or we have to create a complete new font. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Don't be that pessimistic! The accents - including ö and ü - should be available in Build 13. It's a point that had been discussed before it was released, and the problem was solved using AOP texts fonts. I've checked if ö and ü were working with Build13 (without update) in the dialogs, and it seems to work.

All right, after a second look I have found them. You're right they are in the .tga files.

Those who can read have clear advantage. Stupid me. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> If you have a german keyboard, there should not be any problems to type
those umlauts in. I only did it that way because I'm using the US keyboard!
I know there is a workaround by using other keys but am a bit lazy to do that, because
I've got no problems with the english lingo! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />
