Turn off surrendering ships

Mr. Cotton

Landlubber
How can I turn off surrendering ships? Because , if they are turned on its very hard to sink a ship. They always surrender. And then I often cant board them. So, I often get nothing after a battle. No goods, and no XP points.

You can set the probability of surrender in buildsettings.h (i think that's its name) Zero should shut it off completely. I have it at .25 and they surrender only 1 out of 10 times now. Even the little guys want to fight. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

I found it. Thanks. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />.

I believe if you make a change in the BS.h file you have to start a new game or at least reinitialize. However, even if you reinitialize, sometimes, a saved game will not work and you must start a new game. At least that has been my experience. Hope this helps.

The only surrender scalar in BS.h is for Stone-D's surrenders, i.e. on boarding. I guess I forgot to add a on-sea surrender toggle/mult. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />
Fixed now.

Could you please send the fix to me too? Together with any other fixes you might be having? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

And the Pirate ships boarded at sea have crew that fight to the last man <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> every time, often result'n in the death of their captain.

Never seen so many "Dead Looser"s <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />
