Turning off option

Hey guys...ive downloaded and installed build 13 final np, but there are a couple of options I cant find how to change.

First is bombs..I liked how they used to work so how do i set it back to the way it was.
Second is all these extra islands... how do i turn them off so only the origional island/island names exist?

Players use of Bombs is turned off by:
#define USE_REAL_CANNONS 1
in BuildSettings.h

Ok which build do I have to get that was the last before the islands were put in.

For me the extra islands do nothing than alter the game in a way I dont like.

build 12.1. but you reason still doesn't sound very logical to me. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> anyway, it's your choice. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> build 13 final has way many more features and quests in it though.

There are so many nice additions in Build 13, like my new ships and characters. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />)

The new islands are not much of a problem. You can bring up the new map in game to see where islands are positioned.

The biggest problem I have with the new islands is now I cant find a bloody thing....I go west from falais, trying to get to conceicao and I find guadalope....so I go further west...nothing......where the bloody hell is that island?? Is there a downloadable full map of the area???

The entire map is in the game!

Press the "F2" key and then the Map button at the far right top of the screen.

There is also a printable version on Pieters site somewhere.
 
also, try pressing TAB on the worldmap and moving your mouse around. works like a charm. you indeed have to go west from FDF to get to cenceciao. just way further than you used to. strangely enough, guadeloupe is to the north-east of FDF. i think you messed up your navigation a little. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />) you wouldn't be the first. i've done worse, you know.

you don't really need the map, actually. but it could be usful as reference if you print it, if you hold it the right way up. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />) i, for example, have once ended up at FDF instead of conceciao. or the other way round, i don't remember. the confusion of east and west has gotten me way too often already. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
Removing the new islands from Build 13 would require an insanely large amount of work, but it IS possible in theory. I don't know why you would want to, because they offer some nice additional gameplay. Especially in the Build 14 Alpha's where there are actually quests taking place there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
 
hey guys since you're all so very helpful 1 more quick question......

whenever I board a ship and take it as a prize, I seem to get a bad reputation no matter what I do with the crew, which is the best option to take to maintain rep?
 
Huh? I think you should only get a bad rep when you "slaughter them like pigs". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
 
i use my maps all the time pieter, and it has still not completely prevented the occasional mishap. anyway...

that bug isn't one i've heard before. could be another install glitch.
 
well, i sometimes get lost after a particularily confusing series of headwinds and then just point myself more or less in the right direction. it usually works. it gets a totally different matter however when two out of three ports are hostile. then it's russian roulette.
