Up to date charactor creation?

Hi all

Is there anywhere that as a Up to date charactor creation for the latest build MOD? I was just going to create a charactor on land as a start and then expand it as a small quest where, in basic he tells you there is ships attacking, which inturn (When you go back out to sea Spawns a large French fleet to battle with)

So i also wonder how to trigger a event that puts the french ships there

The only way that approximates your wish is a "stormy start". You'll have to tell the boatswain that you are going to leave Oxbay immediately, storm or not. After that you will find yourself on the beach without your ship. You still have it, but you'll have to get to town, fix the ship, hire more crew and such. This is a maritime game after all, you cannot start it as a simple landlubber.

The trigger to the french invasion of Oxbay occurs when you arrive and leave Oxbay for the first time _by sea_ (supposing you didn't take the regular way, not the stormy start).
 
sorry i meant it as, U go to the created charactor who is a NPC and get the misson to "destroy french fleet" not anything 2 do with oxbay

Precisely as it says in your quest book, you have to go to Redmond and inform its governor of the french attack (make sure it DID happen, as in, if you started anywhere else than Oxbay, sail there and then leave it, best under french flag, or you'd be in trouble). Redmond governor will then give you a quest to go on a recon mission to Oxbay island... and so on <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
I wanted to create a seprate quest away from that, my own quest which is repeatable which simpley spawns X number of enemy, french or spainish or even pirate ships off the coast so i have a big battle on purpose to add some action in the game!

Also no tutorials on petes page, if there there, there hidden!

I doubt it has a quests tutorial though.

But as of your aim, this has already been realised... every time you enter the sea, there is a random group of ships generated in the vicinity of the island. In most cases, those will be hostile to you, and in many cases they will be hostile to the settlement you just left.

If you are after creating some special occasion quests, may Morgan be with you, you'll have to fish out the info in the forums, and by looking into the source code for existing quests and possibly by asking our coding gurus.

For quest stuff, open up both_reaction.c and quests_reaction.c and try to find some code that does what you want. It helps if you know where in the game a similar event occurs. Then copy that code and use it.

There are no tutorials on quests on my site. There are no tutorials at all, actually.
