/!\<i>This is only a model and it's texture! The files will owerwrite original Surprise, so be careful, but i release the files for it to be possibly added as an entirely new ship</i>/!\

I hope you'll like her.

As usual, <b>you'll find her on ftp under folder "Ship Boussole"</b> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

i'm not sure.... it's a very nice ship, but the texture seems oddly fake in comparison to other ships. i don't quite know what it is. maybe someone else knows.

I had some difficulties with it, especially on the rear, and with the gallery windows in particular, the Uv mapping on this model is quite... strange. From what you have in the editor, to what you get on the model, the texture extends quite a lot. And those modelised gallery window, even if they are nice, ruins a lot of texturing possibilities. Unless you wanna talk about the color scheme, or about the wood texture?

i agree with the ship being too clean. that was what i meant. there's no shadow at all on the bow, for instance. it just looks a little wrong.

I'll may seem a bit stupid but what do you mean by no shadows, how could i introduce shadows? Can you enlight Me ( ^^ )
What could i do to make it a bit more "dirty"? It's true that to seem naturel, a ship must seem a bit worn ^^

try making the area below the arcs on the bow darker. it would look better, and not as if the arcs are just stuck onto it.

I don't realy shure, I don't make ship recolors offten, but try to make it a little lower brightnes and contrast...

What about her now? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<img src="http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/7650/boussole5su7.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> i like it this way.

In fact, in your last picture both ships looks strange. As if they were reacting weirdly to light. Or as if it was night or sunset for them and plain day for the rest of the scene. Very strange.

True! I didn't notice that detail! O__o

About the polycount, i din't experienced any lag, but it's true that it doesn't mean anything since it depends of the machine used to run the game (tough mine isn't exceptionnal) but, where could i watch to get a precise number?

That's most likely a reverse lighting bug.

And, you can see polycount in GMViewer, for example.

Seb even updated the MODEL! I had failed to notice that before. Stupid - STUPID - me! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Did we include this ship in Alpha 8 yet? I don't recall so. If not, we should and the model probably needs lighting-fixing too. Should we replace the original Surprise model with this one as well?

I included it with the bellona i did with yohoho's ships and the AOP ones, as for the lighting bug, she has it. I don't think we should replace the Surprise by this one, but we might easily update the Surprise with anchors and a figure head, without forgetting culverins <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
