kblack

Landlubber
Storm Modder
Is it that possible?

I can't - in fact. till I didn't get the "preload" ability, I coulnd't use it in my ship, even when my cannoneer had it.

Also, I can't order other ships things like "quick turn"

TIA

You need to have the ability yourself, when the ability involves anything you have to activate, abilities such as 180 turn, pre-reload, instant repair, rush.

I believe you also need "your own" personal fighting/fencing abilities.

The feats arent shared, but the points you put into the characters are. Though the non-activateable (oooh, bad word-naming) feats may boost you, apart from the fencing ones.

The simple rule for abilities is, if you need to activate it by the menu, you have to have them yourself, if not, it does if an officer has them. Considering however that an activateable ability usually needs some others as a precondition, that´s pretty much useless.

I've found that you can tell one of your fleet to use the special ability, although I'm not sure that helps anything. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I don't remember if I've fixed perk-availability checking. I _thought_ they were done with GetOfficersPerkUsing() or whatever the summonperk function.
