<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> all!

Just uploaded to the FTP, something you will all want to take a look at - it's Vassal's musket and musketoon for PotC!

Yes, he finally got them finished, and to get the files so you can test them, you need to get the file called:

<span style='`font-size`:25pt;`line-height`:100%'><b>Vassal weapons mod.zip</b></span>

Sorry, no pics yet, I don't have any, but I think Vassal has them. Take a peek and see what you think! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Heres a pick <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

<img src="http://robotsdontbleed.com/suraknar/musket1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

And I would like to thank the ff:

Suraknar (He has done the greatest work in this mod, the musket)
AlexusB(for his permission on using his musketoon model)
Cat(for making the interface)
Nathan(for supporting me)

And myself <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> who worked the codings

Hope you like it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p:" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" />

Oh hey, awesome, I'm impressed Vassal. I'll try and make time to get you a shop or something set up for these... we could combine it with a gunsmith upgrading pistols if someone gets that figured out.

Pieter figured that out in, um, search for pieter + blade + gun.
And while you do that, could you add `item-trading` abilities to the blacksmiths?
But if you only want him to do _swords_, rather than swords, guns, armor, we'll need to change a bit.
See the item trading thread.

Thank you AlanSmithee <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p:" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" />

Way to go Vassal! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

Disregard what I said above about mapping--I was confused. Different models. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

These are great work! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Surprised??? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> ....did you like it??? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Unzipped and placed in appropriate files (clicked on properties to find location). Not getting a view of the weapons when I review my inventory or buying/selling. Otherwise the blunderbuss looks great (haven't found a musket yet).
Any way to increase the firepower of the musket/musketoon? Virtually has no effect on a close in adversary. These weapons were large caliber, blunderbusses from .80 caliber up to 1 inch bores and were usually loaded with shot. Muskets, on the other hand, were loaded with ball, shot, or buck and ball. French calibers were usually .69 caliber (18 balls to the pound) and British weapons .75 caliber (ten balls to the pound).
Oh yeah, the slow reload time on the blunderbuss/musketoon is perfect.

Yours, Mike

Nathan..i have an email for you <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Screenshot looks like a lot of fun. Must check this out!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />

NK: If the new system is flexible enough, and I suspect it is, I'd like the blacksmiths to have different strengths and weaknesses... they'd all do swords, but only a few could do armour* or pistols or both.

* is armour gonna stay the way it is, with only the visibly armoured soldier characters, or will it be an item again (worn, ehm, under the clothes) like in previous builds?

Sorry to place this here, but just seemed right <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Armor?
