Hey Thagarr.. know any more games than Settlers 4 or Northland or Rune? Vikings are cool. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I wish Settlers 6 had them as playable race with all those cool looking houses buildable.
 
no, those aren't vikings. he's more into the burly barbarians and the like. try looking for Vikings III or Asgard (not sure if that's a game, but i think so).

What about Sacred? You can play as a Gladiator in it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
Tried Sacred.. no go. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" /> It has graphical bugs with clothes and armors plus that stupid glow and... well I'm gonna try Sacred 2 someday. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Age of Mythology was rather.. not really sure what I didn't like in that.. felt like a waste of time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Though having big minotaurs on the battlefield is cool.. too bad I didn't find a way to make them more stronger, couldn't find a way to mod them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
the norse are not really vikings, i think. not in the literal sense. you do have longboats, but that's it.

Yeah mister Horsey.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> yer character glows when you have too much armor on him/her.. makes armors look crap due to glow. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> And besides that thing about having different armors on is really badly made in that game.. some armors conflict graphically with each other, for example that gladiator's belt that you can't remove from your gladiator.. it shows itself partially out of the chest armors. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ko" border="0" alt="ko.gif" />

Umm.. Morgan, can't find that Vikings III. That google gives me anything but that game yer talking about. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
My favorite game with vikings was Age of Empires 2, nothing better than fully upgraded long boats with fire arrows!! I thought Age of Mythology was a bit of a let down ...to many "god powers" and not enough strategy for my tastes. Medieval Total War: Viking Invasion was another good one.

Saga: Rage Of The Vikings was another good game, but it came out around the same time as Sea Dogs. I was torn between my viking blood lust, and my pirate lust for booty

I have heard Battle for Asgard is pretty good, but I haven't had the chance to play it yet. Settlers was a good series, but again, just a bit short on strategy for me. Most of the other good viking games I have played were back in the late 80's and early 90's like The Lost Vikings, back when floppy disks were actually still floppy! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
Ohhh! I almost forgot! I ran across a freaking cool Viking movie the other day, it's called Outlander. It's kinda like Predator Vs Beowulf! It stars Jim Caviezel, Sophia Myles, Ron Perlman, and John Hurt.
