vista won't let me edit build13. HELP!

i downloaded build 13 and installed and it works on vista YAY!!! only thing is, i try to go to buildsettings.h file to edit some things (i have to open in notepad) when i go to save, an error message comes up saying

"Cannot create the C:/Programs....Buildsettings.h file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct."

so i figured i'd rename the file to buildsettings1 for sake. then i get a message saying:

"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission"

I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR!!!

any help?

Vista over-security problems again. *sigh*
My recommendation: Install to C:\Games\Pirates of the Caribbean.
That works fine for me.
Possibly Vista isn't happy with you messing around in your own Program Files folder. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

I had the same problem too when I bought my new computer... Vista wouldn't want to let me change a thing without calling me a terrorist. First it was asking several times if I was SURE to rename/move/edit any file... then it dared to say 'you're not allowed to do that' to me, the Administrator, the captain of this ship and the only master here after God. I hang that annoying officer, and I'd advise you to do the same : disable the 'user accompt manager' or something, in the Windows Security Center. If you want to edit a lot of things yourself that the best thing to do. If you don't, well you can enable it again after editing your Buildsetting.h anyway.

fixed it. go to bethseda softworks file, right click> properties> security> go to CURRENT USER> edit> Full Control> Allow

this goes for editing any file in any folder on vista

Ah, yes. That "User Account Control" feature is EVIL!
I was SO happy when I found out how to turn that off.
