warships from governor

Sofus

Landlubber
i already asked this a long time ago, but dont think i ever got an answer.
is it possible to make warships etc. brig, corvette, frigate, SoL, only accessible from the governor.
Lets say you reach the rank of leutenant, you can get offered command of a brig, you become a captain, you can get offered command of a corvette or frigate.
is it also possible to make changes som if you fly under a national flag you have to hand over ships, you are not legaly allowed to sail according to the criterias?.

personally i think that it would make quite an improvement of the game, since it becomes a little more worth it to choose a military carreer.

is it also possible to add more missions from the governors?
fx. colonial assult, escort duties, protect colony, spy missions?

you got a good point its a great idea but i give some of these ideas to sometime's but you gotta know if you give simple idea's first people get more experience and can start later with these big idea's i guess

i like this idea of a governor giving you ships but quite often if you've been playing a while before going to a governor you have a ship bigger then a brig which means you'd lose it under this idea. and even if ou do a ship the size of a brig you'd still advance upto biger ships by yourself then you would by waiting for a promotion at times. i once had to wait around 12 hours ingame for my second promotion from a governor even though in that time i'd taken out 4 enemy merchant fleets. sunk or captured 6 fleet's of the enemy and taken their fort down 5 times. now that's a damn lot to have to do for a simple promotion and you couldn't do it all in a tiny ship

one time my letter of marque was at 600 but when i took out like 10 enemy fleets with my MOW's it went all the way to 1009 and i got promoted to Marquess

the whole idea would be that you couldn't obtain military vessels legaly anywhere else then at the governor.
if you capture a military vessel you would have to turn it over to the authorities (ofcourse you will get a prize), or you would be outlawed.

another thing... is it possible to make a mod where you can send an officer to the nearest friendly port with an prizecrew?

I had that last idea before, sending a prize ship home thus freeing up a slot in your fleet for a new captured ship... the whole way it's done kind of bugs me, how you can't capture a ship if you're out of sailors on yours, even if you have more dudes on another ship in your fleet nearby. ugh.

i just tried the newest build, and you can actually send away a ship for berthing along with a small crew and an officer.

about the surrendering ships... is it possible to make your own ships surrender?

that's a very good idea! then you would be able to have your ships see how good you are at blowing ships out of the water, and make them join you again.
it would make battles very interesting

i think that if a ship surrenders it shouldn't be able to rejoin your fleet before the battle is over.
