What Graphiccard needed ?

Next time i want to upgrade my computer (only for pirates !).
Could anyone of you tell me wht graphiccard i need for Pirates! ?
At the moment i use a Matrox G450 but i guess its not really fast enough :)
I really dont have a clue.... i dont want the "latest" high end graphiccard
for 300 $. i just want a card that works well with pirates...

Yeah i guess but its not so expansive anymore. I think a 5700 is ok too or Ati 9600
 
By the time it's released you should be able to find a ATI 9800 Pro 128 for mid 200's. I be if you looked arround hard enough you could find a ATI 9700 Pro for about Mid 100s, Check EBAY. Other wise I'd say get yourself a 9600XT 256, should be under 200.

I would choose a 9800SE over 9600XT. You dont notice that 9600XT is slightly slightly fastwer. but 9800SE is alot cheaper.

I would say.

Ti4200 - if you dont wanna spend much money
9800SE - If you wanna spend more money
9800 PRO - if you wanna spend even more money
x800xt - if you have to much money. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Have in mind that Ti4200 is a DX8 card and therefor dont show all shadows etc which effect in higher performance but lower picture quality.

thats another good card but isnt it more expensive compared with Radeon cards with similar performance?
 
In that case I recommend the ATI Radeon.... the newest one on the market. It's quite expensive... but if you put this one in your PC, you should be able to see more hehe
 
I think the developers said that the higher end Nvidida cards performed better than the ATI ones did... can anyone refresh my memory? At least as far as Pirates! was concerned.
