what kind of ship will you choose in AoP

now the release date is drawing near, it is time for us to choose our ships (because i have to much of free time, and i want a good game to play) so what ship will you choose as your flagship and why?

i would choose the Corvette type because its fast agile, can pack a punch (however small) and it just looks nice on the screenshot (not a real pirate thisone is <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> )

besides it will take some skill to overpower a manowar with this ship, instead of just shooting the crap out of every ship with the manowar.

let me hear from the forum members, ps to the once with the russian aop versions (crossairs 3 if iam not mistaking) could you please give the statistics from the different ships so we the ``starved people`` can have something to compare...................if not thats fine too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
 
something like frigate(not frigate because is ugly; it hasn't top-gallant), i think corvette will be most probably choice maybe even brig... and i will british royal navy fly colours, certainly i wont be a pirate in any aspect
 
Most likley a sloop,fast and nimble,not much fer firepower,don't need it unless yer tackl'n a fort,than I'd be steal'n.....Ur ...I'd be mean'n te borrow 'n a S.O.L. or a battleship <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
SeaDogs: Fast Ship of Line, in PotC i used a frigate so i think i'll do the same with AoP becouse its way faster than any other ship <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />
 
Tricky question.
I love the look of a Galleon.
I will probably go for a war galleon, when I have the money to buy one or the talent to commandeer one.
For a starter, I will be happy with a Brig.
 
buying a ship? what kind of pirate are you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> (nervermind that) would it be possible to add the constitution, i dont know a lot about sailing ships however i just like the look and the specs of that ship. and since they added the MoW it woudnt be a ..........well oddity to see it sailing in caribbean waters 200-300 years early <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I agree that the frigate isnt something to be proud of, however we have some very talented modders that will be able to add some beautifull ships, or atleast i hope <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> .

as i said i will be sailing in a corvette to be quick and nimble, under english colors.
trying to somewhat role play the movies called hornblower (i think),
does anybody else want to roleplay besides me? and if so how? what ship will you choose and under what colors will you sail

yeah its some what the same as what i asked in my first post, still........
 
I'll probably sail under the Union Jack, standing on the quarterdeck of a corvette. (I like its look! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />) Once its modded though... down with the Crown and up runs the Star Spangled Banner! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />
 
A sloop is a great pirate vessel, but I am an English captain of his majesty's royal navy, and I shall put all the pirates who try to get in the way of the might of England at the end of my sword with pleasure <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> , so I would have to go for a corvette. She's the ship that can pack a punch all around, is fairly agile, and beatiful in design. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" /> I sure hope those modders will make the frigate with a top-galliant, she is ugly and looks like a trade galleon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />.
 
I agree with you Gunther the cabin boy that frigate is weird without top-gallant but i doubt
that they will change anything...we will have to probably wait for mod <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" />
 
if i play for a country (Holland ofcourse) I will us e a fleut or a galleon, and as a pirate a sloop or a schooner.
 
Hmmm most likely a Pinnace, Schooner, Brig or any other "Merchant man" but i will settle for a nice Sloop aswell!

I will fly under Dutch flag, most 'o the time that is hehe...
 
I will start off being a merchant trading and completing simple quests in either a caravel or a galleon. Then after a while I will eventually get a war galleon and capture colonies for the Spanish.
I am always on the side of the Spanish in these games. I particularly enjoyed the Spanish campaign in Sea Dogs.

Why the Spaniards if i may be so bold 'n forthcoming?!
 
Well mates ,Sail'n under the Skull an Bones be me fancy in POTC and me fine sloop the Black Heart has sunk many O' English,Spanish and other such ships in ,as I'd not be prejudeced nor picky if thar be booty an Rum te be 'ad in AOP <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
