Nekse

Landlubber
after got to sea my crew always get off almost instant, bug or bad playing?
i have "Build v12.1 Full" installed

you need rum + food and pay gold to keep morale up?

what can be used as food?

wheat lots and lots of wheat mate <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

unless its changed but i'm in from build 12 so it must be wheat

Would it be a good idea to allow player to give his crew fruits and wine as morale boosters? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Of course. That'll be something to try for Build 14. Or for Build 13.1. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Wheat = food(keeps crew healthy/stops them dying(you should lose crew if you run out, as it works currently))

Ships Water/Weak Ale(NEW) = drink(works exactly like wheat in its effects on the crew - replaces rum...dont worry!)

Fruit(NEW) = moral booster(stops scurvy(arrgghh!) lack of fruit = loss of moral effect on crew, they dont die though)

Rum = moral booster(keeps moral high(arrggghhh!) lack of Rum = loss of moral in crew, they wont die though)

Both Fruit+Rum in this model would be required but in much less a quantity than for food+water, they would be consumed in much less a quantity also.

So we will have 2 foodstuffs that effect directly if your crew starve or die of thirst.

And 2 that deal with the crews moral.

for build 'later' of course <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

as long as it doesn't take up to much space. i'm having trouble with space already with the fast ships.

Sounds nice to me. Definitly something to try for Build 14. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

If you do do this I would think you would need to boost cargo space by around the
space required for these goods (for 30 days at near to maximum crew). At least on the smaller ships, or trading would become impossible. I can see it now.
me to the tradesman on Redmond. "No I don't have that sandal you ordered"
"Why"
"My crew are demanding water and fruits now as well as rum and wheat. I didn't have enough room in the hold"

the good required should indeed at least be lighter, or you should need only very little of it so it doesn't take that much space. the latter would in my opinion be the best solution.

But

a cargo load of Eiderdown would set you up for life.

back on topic: guess you can keep the morale up by letting them tickle each other with the feathers. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
