What new build mods would you like to see added next?

And txconverter goes of course both ways: you can convert tga.tx to tga, edit in a graphics program, then convert back to tga.tx.
It used to be available here in the ftp section..

Edit:
And it's in the Wiki, too:
<a href="http://robotsdontbleed.com/wacko/wakka.php?wakka=ModdingTools&v=f47" target="_blank">http://robotsdontbleed.com/wacko/wakka.php...dingTools&v=f47</a>

I think I have Rexman's converter, which turns tga.tx into dds. I shall give this one a try and edit the tga instead.

And I have Photoshop 6; it was hard enough to get that by the ... means I had available. Will that be a problem?

Not a bit.
Probably even 4.0 would suffice. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
(Hell, I think I had v2.0 or even 1.0(!) on an old IIsi...)

I mean, I think Targa's an 80s format. I oughta check 3ds max's manual, I think they have a nice precis on formats.
Ah.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The Targa (TGA) format was developed by Truevision for their video boards. The format supports `32-bit` true color; that is, `24-bit` color plus an alpha channel, and is typically used as a true color format.

Targa files are widely used to render still images and to render sequences of still images to video tape.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Heh, I still have my original installation disks for I think 3.0, which I got for FREE bundled with a `high-end` scanner I bought. But I'm running 7.++ whatever it is before CS, currently. GREAT program, I wouldn't be without it! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

So I got it all working, three new `multi-gun` packs, but I can't upload to the FTP yet because the disk I have them on turns out to be corrupted or something. Bollocks.

For a teaser, here are the models:

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/alan_smithee/bracelrgmodel.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Brace of two large pistols

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/alan_smithee/bracemedmodel.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Three medium.

I've already posted the three small somewhere, and anyway that floppy disk just does not want to give it up.

They look nice, Alan! Hope you get that disk working again... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Aye Alan,very nice pistols indeed,it almost seems a shame tew even fire em, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Fer de original question, "What new build mods would you like to see added next?" Fred Bob has done been thunking 'bout it fer some time! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

His answer be: Quests, quests, an' mo' quests! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Thar seem tew be close on plenny o' ships, an' islands, an' characters, an' items, an' relational thingies, an' detailed lil' tweakie stuff, but now what Fred Bob be desirin' be new quests dat takes an' puts together what we gots already an' creates some puzzlin', challengin', `goal-oriented` gameplay additions (aka as quests)! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate_plain.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p3" border="0" alt="pirate_plain.gif" />

Did Fred Bob be mentionin' quests yet? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

lol <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Now that you mention it, more quests would be a very welcome addition. Since after the main story ends, there is not much else to be doing but plundering, killing pirate captains, and escorting the odd merchant ship, and more plundering. Even in a total free enviornment such as the new Pirates from Sid Meier, there was an end to your career that held promise of revealing your lot in life when you retired.

Aye,new quests an new characters would add a lot to de game,de problem be to few coders <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />
Aye, more quests! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Until a few months back, I was actively part of an internet Star Wars fan/ gaming community
called the "Emperor's Hammer"

The main gaming platform for many years was Lucas' Arts "Tie Fighter"

For 9 years I flew various Tie Fighters for the Empire with the potential for hundreds
of battles and thousands of individual missions, all different.

Now, game play itself could not be changed much, perhaps for technical and perhaps legal reasons.

But the mission files could be swapped out at will, creating endless opportunities
for new missions, none interfering with previous ones.

POTC seems to me to be just the opposite.

We can change so much of how the game looks and feels, but the quests all sit there bumping into each other!

A system to plug quests in and out ... if only there was ... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Forgot to add my old sig.<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/7888greeb/157686.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Making new quests is not easy, but it can be done - it's TIME CONSUMING...

I made the Fred Bob quest, and want to expand on it with the secondary characters of Armand and Estrella, in a hidden cove anchorage (KR?) hiding from the French and Spanish armies and Estrella running an inn/tavern. Armand is then available for more quests...

We're also hoping to do more with Clement and his propensity for inventing things... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And we've got a few more new stories popping up from one of our newer members, EricRKane:

<a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/ftopic3756.php" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net/ftopic3756.php</a> So we've got some stuff to work on, it's just a matter of buckling down and actually doing it! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Per the glider pic I posted in the Build release party thread (glider, umm, borrowed, from a Morrowind mod by Mykul), I've been thinking about adding jumping for outdoor areas. It'll be spotty, like sidestep, but a thing to have fun with.

Have you EVER played Redguard, Nathan? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Or jump straight into the air, yes. I'll have to do some testing to see what will work and what won't, but that's the idea, yes. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

(Yes. Finally found it in a used shop after ~4yrs searching. And then VDMSound wasn't working right on my laptop, and I haven't had a chance to play it on the desktop. But I do recall the recommendations of you and SCM. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> )

Man o' man! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Wait till ol' Capitan "Jumping" Dams be hearin' about dis! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> No kidding! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

This is cool, Nathan! Can we JUMP during a swordfight and avoid a blow? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

So, Nathan, are ye gonna use de crouchin' animation used fer when ye jump off'n sumptin' like a balcony or how ye gonna animate dis jumpin', eh? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

That's a good idea, Fred Bob, maybe Nathan can incorporate this into a duck or jump move for swordfighting. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
