Where to buy bombs?

Didn't see this in the Build13 FAQ. I haven't found bombs at Oxbay, Greenford, or Redmond. I've just liberated Oxbay and received the "Kill Rheims" mission from Silehard, and I'd like to sack Falaise d'Fleur for the heck of it. Bombs would help.

Last session, I reduced my fleet to one Warship (flagship) + 1 War Galleon and dismissed a few less useful officers. I seemed to be getting diminishing returns w/ more than two ships.

on, you'll not find any bombs anywhere! Has to be turnend on
or off in BS.h or IS.h, cant remember, sinse I have not played 13/2

I thought bombs were now reserved for forts only

but you CAN steal 'em. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> but you will have to quite some stealing to get a sufficient amount to destroy a fort. but maybe 1000 of them will be enough. that's about two loads. talk to the ammo suppler in the fort. he should be wanderin' around somewhere.

FAIK it was the "Realistic Cannon" mod that disabled the (regular) use of bombs for ships, as bombs on ships were considered unhistorical.

You can switch that mod off in Buildsettings.h and return to the stock cannon behaviour.

ah-HAA! i HAVE seen a picture from that era of a galleon clearly using bombs! it was pretty badly made, but it was very clear that it was using bombs.

Bombs are turned off by default for historical accuracy. But CouchcaptainCharles added one way of still getting bombs anyway: Some towns have forts that are accessible from the land side. Go in there, fight many soldiers, find the armory and try to convince one of the officials to give you some bombs or special weapons.

you don't have to fight the soldiers! i just keep looking for the guy, and if i don't find him but someone else, i simply steal his money. i get caught about 1/6 times, but then the soldiers aren't a real problem anyway.
