Just a quick one fellas, i'm looking around to purchase it and I cannot find anywhere.

I just found out my earlier news post pointing to Gamers Gate does not actually let you buy it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Where is everyone getting their copies from?

Amazon. Got mine like 3 or 4 days after I ordered it.

Ahh cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I look forward to your opinion on it, as I dont know if the game is worth it. I hear a lot about bugs and disappointments - but them new folks keep playing the game anyway so dont know what to think.

Well....the most "Bugs" that i read on Forums are from less Questlog.....like Peter Blood one.
I for me make the Peter Blood Escape Quest-line without any fails.

The really only "BUG" i found is all 5-6h playtime a exe-error.

True....the Game is really havy to learn, and the Questlog is most really worthless. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

But for me i like the "challange" of it.

I think its allways better than AoPCT at release and 3x bigger.

Yeah, that can happen some times - for me mostly during huge battle... save often, safe early even in battles.
And it happens that you make a save and if you load this save it immediately crashes. But it does not happen that often to be a real game breaker.
Still, that's the only bug/issue I came across so far that can really piss me off from time to time.

Everything else are rather minor annoyances... some quests are a little buggy, unclear and unfortunately designed in a way that you can completely break them without even knowing.
The difficulty does not scale very well; the higher levels are just insane hard and unplayable.

Oh, and one more thing: the documentation.
Dont get me wrong here... it does come with a pretty well done, huge printed manual (very uncommon these days) - however, this documentation is seriously lacking on important details and constantly leaves questions open.

I never played (or even heard about) AoP before I stumbled upon COAS but I was a huge fan of Sid Meier's Pirates! games on various platforms in my youth... and COAS certainly delivers a lot good old pirate feeling here.
So yeah, for me I do think it's worth it.

Amazon .

Not saw any bugs so far apart from 2 crash's after playing 4h in each session <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />

EB Games, but they haven't brought any more copies in since I got mine. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

I haven't had the game crash after loading from a save, so that could be very rare but then i haven't played any of the quests yet, i steal from houses and any other places i find easy access too and sell all the goods, as soon as i have enough money to buy a good level 5 ship i buy the ship and go stealing some more, i then go out and start looting ships, if i get any officers to join i give them comand of any ships i take and sell at the nearest friendly town.

I have come across the 4 to 6 hour crash bug, i just thourght perhaps it was my computer getting too hot at first, now i'm more content that its the game, i will have to remember to save often before and after any battles since i do loot a lot and is the main source of my income.

Thanks for that leongt, I went searching in Melbourne when I was over last weekend and didnt find it, might check EB Games first and then if they don't have it or its way more expensive I'll order a copy I reckon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

you mite find EBgames overseas like I did a lot cheeper than here in Aus at $89 plus postage is a bit steep

Personally I've only run into one actual bug, and that has at least a temporary fix that was released by the community.

Outside of that everything else seems to just be complaints because things that lead into quests are not always immediately obvious.

Seems kind of realistic to me, but to each his own.
