Light. Ultimately, the additional damage of heavier weapons is not proportional to energy expenditure. The hardest fights are typically against many enemies and rely on you swinging the blade a lot for the area-effect. You can't do it for very long using a heavy blade.

Unless, Cortelas or Cerber for medium sword, Morgan's Rapier or Cortès Sword for light sword.

About the Cortes sword, I recently played the vanilla quest and did not find it in the relevant box in that final temple. It must be a mod addition, since I can't see it in the files either.

Also, I've been collecting pics of all the weapons in the game, that I could. You'd be surprised how unique a weapon the fireplace poker is!
