i focus on Captain Jack Sparrow, sail around with a pirate flag in the Black Pearl, and sink anyone who shoots at me, simultaniously yelling "Stop blowin' 'oles in my ship!" when i get hit.
my alternative character is Jack Aubrey. why? cause im a RN addict! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" /> . sail around in anything with Nelsonian ship colours [i mean black and yellow ore], and hunt down anyone against England [almost as bad as the pirates, except that England has an ally, while the Pirates dont]

I play as Nathanial Hawk. I like him most and i fight against anyone and make use of the diplomat very often.

Is there a way of becoming neutral or friendly with the pirates besides the flag?

If you are famous enough, you can join the pirates. Go to QC and talk to the pirate leader there.

i combined jack sparrow, jack aubrey, will turner and barbossa once. me as jack sparrow of course, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" /> the others as my officers. i still think that jack needs his hat. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />

funny...i did something similar. i was Jack Sparrow, i had Will Turner, a more beautiful version of Elizabeth Swann [the one who's description is "the kind of woman no man can fail to fal in love with at first site"], Mr Gibbs, and 2 other characters, who i added based on a couple of players on a PotC Role Playing Game on my site. one of the characters is our very own Cpt. Yuke <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />. im in the Pearl, he's in the Escelated Battleship, the other character, a girl, is sailing the new 1800s style 74 gunner, made by Kazeite [my my..his name's all over the place lately! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ], and the other 3 are my officers, with all the skills needed to be practically invincible <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" /> [you cant kill the stars of the film now, can you?! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ]

i had something like that, but i only had the pearl, and used the governor's daugther for elizabeth. her costume is a bit more elaborate, but she does have a hat.
