Why don't images post anymore?

Images you posted, Petros? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Images I am trying to post.
The same types, and linked from the same site, as I've been doing for months.

The error message I get is:

"Sorry, dynamic pages in the

Interesting. I tried too, and it doesnt work. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Dynamic pages ? Would that be something like a php (or jsp or asp or something) script ?
What type of page is that image on ? And do you get the error with a static html page, too?

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/images/stories/akella.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />

works for me

I don't know one page from another. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
It is the same hosting site I have used from the begining.
My sig is linked to there.
The screen shot of Croft I recently posted is on there.

An example of one image I tried to post but that's not working in tags:
<a href="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic.php?u=7888greeb&i=470691" target="_blank">http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic.php?u=7888greeb&i=470691</a>

That *is* a php script and thus a dynamic page (as you see from the file extension .php, before the "?".
Can't you link directly to the image file or a html page containing that image ?

In general, "dynamic page" means the contents is not saved in a file, but generated at runtime by the server. In your case it's probably a script that gets the picture from a database. I don't know why this forum doesn't allow links to dynamic pages - maybe it's because they are potentially slow, or big.

Either that, or they're trying to prevent "bandwidth theft" by people who post their pix remotely. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Edited!
(actually deleted, I was very short tempered here!)

While no one is looking, I had better just edit this one out as well. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

A much calmer Petros here. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
Spent half of the morning on this! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

One may never be too old to learn new things ... but it takes so much more of the one thing older folks have less of ...Time!

I looked at my older posts to see how pix8.net linked them.
Just on a hunch I thought they still are being stored that way so I edited <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" /> the failing/unacceptable dynamic link:

"pix8.net/pro/pic.php?u=7888greeb&i=471603" to
"pix8.net/pro/pic/7888greeb/471603.jpg" ... and I get
<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/7888greeb/471603.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Thanks Inez! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/love.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":luv" border="0" alt="love.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> I tried several versions of the filename but missed that one! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Very nice, Petros! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> She looks really great! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
