Why so very good starting ships?

I know Pieter's head just about explodes when new ideas are thrown around so close to getting the thing stable at last ( hee hee hee) but this gives me one. What if for a future build the new game screen could have a "package" selection that gave you a different set of starter ships, starting level, and starting wealth right off the bat, without having to mess with the buildsettings.

This could be good both for casual players who are reluctant to go messing with any of the data files as well as provide a ready-made system for people working on mod and what not without having to take the extra step of changing the file every time they want to try something different or start over with different resources.
 
I started a new game with the yacht yesterday. Didn't like it any better than the lugger. But after a couple of captured enemy ships, I traded it for a sloop. Nice starting ship.

For general play, I prefer the schooner. But I changed one of the ships to the schoonerxebec (gaff-rigged xebec) and it's very nice indeed. Probably too nice for a starting character. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
