ning the pirates should give the player some advantage. I don't know what, but I think this particular feature could do with some improvement... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

+1 to cannons and grapling <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

The game IS called "Pirates" of the Caribbean after all ... there should also be a reward for becoming a pirate in the game.

Then again, this game was intended for 'everyone' by disney... so endorsing being evil was not in their dev model.

i talked to him and he said "go away"
but with the mod, mabey when you attack other nations that are hostile to them(all others) they will like you

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

What flag were you flying when you asked him ?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<b>About joining the pirates:</b>
You have to talk to Isenbrandt Jurcksen on Quebradas Costillas. Make sure you don't fly a pirate flag before talking to him. You should also be at war with the pirates and have a high enough fame. Then you can join the pirates. Note: If you do, pirates will become friendly and everybody else will become hostile. You can, of course, also be friendly with the pirates by raising a pirate flag. You might get recognised though. I once became friendly with the pirates, then bought amnesty from all other nations. After that, I had no enemies at all. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I agree, there should be some advantage in going pirate, however, I don't think it should be that easy to buy amnesty from other (or at least all) nations, if you do go pirate.

<b>About the shotgun mode:</b>
You should simply add a line:
<i>CI_CreateAndSetControls( "", "CheatShotGun", CI_GetKeyCode("VK_NUMPAD8"), 0, false );</i>
to <i>PROGRAM\CONTROLS\init_pc.c</i>
Make sure the cheatmode is on in BuildSettings.h, reset the controls to default and shotgun away using the numpad 8 key. Of course, you can also choose another key. You don't HAVE to use the numpad key. It should also be possible to make it work with the cheatmode off, but that requires some more coding. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Thx I saw what I had done wrong. I spelled something wrong. Kinda funny but thankyou for the help. I rather like the numpad controls. That was a very good idea.

What exactly does the shotgun cheat do ?

It really doesn't do much except kill with one shot. The downside is that it bumps you up about 5 or more levels all at once so I don't save when I use it. I almost regret getting it to work since it was a lesson in anger management. But what I used it for was to blast some fool that was annoying me square in the face. Most often the governors.

Why does it increase your character level with about 5 levels at once? That isn't part of the code, is it? Do you get so much experience from killing a guy with one shot?

Don't need a cheat to kill in 1 shot, use a brace of large pistols in excellent condition, they do a better job.

I'm guessing that it does enough damage (damage, hit points = experience points) to kill many men.
You only use it once on each enemy, but all the points per shot add up and at lower levels, the level-ups come faster.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> In the stock version, I used to put a Lai_Immortal line into
character.inet.c file. That only used to work up to the point you mentioned.
After the Danielle cuttup it was back to the honest way!
I never tried it in the moddet versions. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

Thats still works Nosie....in fact I put that into AOP as well......but "hehehehe" now I can't kill Beatrice or Blaze in the Cave...so it is game over....can't reinitialize in AOP like POTC. Here in POTC I could "//" out that peice of code and disable it...then hit "I" to initialize the game again....wonder how to implement "initialize"

Anyway...that code still works, I used to put it in front of all my Officers, that I didnt want killed off as well, cause it always seemed they were the frist to die after I just got them
